Abstract

This article investigates a re-updating of the fantastic genre within the framework of gender and class conflicts, through the novel En la casa muerta, fifth book of Gloria Alcotra Mansilla, Franco—Argentinean author from a historical lineage and with solid relationships within literary circles such as the Sur group. Likewise, the work is analyzed within the genealogy of other novelized houses of Argentine literature, also hosts of the occult, within the same historical period and within the same social conformation. It is also observed how the autonomy of the literary works and how parallel narrative planes are combined and crossed in the signaling of violence and oppression.
