Rap: poesía plebeya

Abstract

We describe the forms of diction in rap practices to ask about the place of its poetics in the contemporary literary series. At the same time, we recover the dialectic hidden between art and mass culture to study the special form constituted by the hip hop culture: an elite of intellectuals from the periphery that claim for their rights. In close relation to the studied phenomenon, we ask ourselves about the place of aesthetics in Cultural Studies. Finally, we analyze the ways in which modernist dandyism still plays a role in the process of identity-construction of the mass culture.
