Abstract

This paper explores innovations in the interaction between the performative qualities of body, voice and objects in Latin poetry as from the last twenty years, and the newly found spaces created in the process. Through the analysis of some poets/performers´ work, this study reflects upon different realizations of the multilayered concept of "performance" and what this concept means or enables. Also, the elements made visible through the intertwining of poetry, performance and technology are explored, as well as the definition of poetry, performance, and the way sounds, music, spaces and body come into play according to the creative force and linguistic universe of the author. Thus, this work reveals that the most recent fusions of poetry and performance tend to disembody the performer so that new forms of interaction are developed, and new spaces can be created both for poetry and voices.
