In this article, we analyze the thread of discussions about the conceptualization of an “other” Cuban subject developed by different authors in their respective contributions to the journals Naranja Dulce (1988-1989) and Diáspora(s) (1997-2002), founded in Cuba during and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, in relation to their future literary projects against the backdrop of bilateral relations between Cuba and “the East”.
