Invitación a la masacre (1965) y el demonio de la perversidad: las transgresiones góticas de Marcelo Fox

Abstract

Among the many lost episodes of the 1960s Buenos Aires Avant-Garde, the oversight of the eccentric Marcelo Fox (1942-1972) is maybe one of the most flagrant. Vindicated by Alberto Laiseca and Fogwill as a literary genius of his generation, he was the author of a scarce and strange work. Here we propose a retrieval of his short story collection Invitación a la masacre (An Invitation to Massacre, 1965). We examine the Foxian writing both through the Foucauldian category of transgression and the concept of gothic mode, as it is developed by José Amícola.
