This work analyzes the figure of improvisation as moral abandonment and openness to the new in the book El tiempo de la improvisation (2019), by Alberto Giordano. In this way it is possible to read in it, between the record of the possibilities of theoretical speculation and its ethical scope, or between the observation of manias and the ironic reflection on the present, a record of intimate writing that condenses not only reflections on the writings of the self and the autobiographical turn, but also the personal implications of the essay once it reaches the limits of the anecdotal, the narrative or the implication of having to tell a life or respond to how it is told without abandoning the passion theoretical.
