Abstract

Abstract: The present work proposes a reading of the image-thought-city relationship in the last book by Juan Bautista Ritvo, Venezia, (2017). This proposal allows us to think about how the figure of the essayist, throughout the extensive work of Ritvo, has been modified from a writing of the conceptual unfolding, until arriving at a writing of the sensation like experience, which, among others things, allows to carry forward the crossing of diverse registers: biography, erudition, psychology, poetry, philosophy, painting. In this way, the images of the city, space where thought becomes decomposition, could be thought of as a sustained denial of the territory of the literal.
