The present work proposes to think the relationships that César Aira's work establishes with cinema. The reading goes, in the first place, through the explicit mentions of cinema in his novels (in his historical, genealogical, anecdotal, aesthetic and narrative variants) to demonstrate the fecundity of the cinematographic imaginary in Aira’s oeuvre. The second instance focuses on the cinematographic origin of some literary procedures in his work, with emphasis on two directors admired by Aira: Alfred Hitchcock and Jean-Luc Godard.
